About the Artist

Laurie A McNiff - Biography

A Lifelong Passion

My artistic journey began in my very young years at the idyllic Windhover, a summer camp for the arts in Rockport, MA. Walnut Hill School for the Arts for high school and Syracuse University where I received a BFA laid the technical foundation for my current practice, which centers on the interplay of shape, light and shadow. Through my work, I explore the profound connections between humans and the natural world, merging organic forms with the man made. I am particularly drawn to the tension and harmony that arise when these elements coalesce, crafting visual narratives that speak to our shared existence.
